Overview
2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
To celebrate ICE is running a year of events and activities that show how civil engineering has for over 200 years transformed the way we live.
The Institution of Civil Engineers Vice President Rachel Skinner will be delivering a lecture on Future mobility: the (potential for) good, the (risk of) bad and (how best to steer clear of) the ugly”.

Speaker’s Biography
RACHEL SKINNER BSc(Hons) MSc(Eng) CEng FICE MCIHT TPP
Rachel is Head of Development at WSP and a Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Rachel works with public and private sector clients in London and elsewhere in the UK, and has authored and co-authored recent publications on autonomous vehicles and place-making, digital technology and its potential for infrastructure, industry innovation and collaboration.
In 2016, Rachel was named within The Telegraph’s inaugural list of the Top 50 Influential Women in Engineering, and in 2017 won both “Best Woman Civil Engineer” and “Most Distinguished Winner” at the European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards.
